Julie & Ryan gave their guests a fabulous party!

Their 17 member wedding party had fun with their grand entrance:

Ushers were introduced to "Moves Like Jagger"
Wedding party to "Give Me Everything"
and Julie & Ryan entered to cheers and "Viva La Vida (Live)"

Guests were treated to a lovely cocktail hour and then a 4 course meal. Julie's father shared words of wisdom and jokes during his welcome speech.

The Best Man and Maid of Honor toasted the happy couple while guests enjoyed cupcakes for dessert.

Julie and her father danced to "A Kiss to Build a Dream On," then Ryan and his mother took the floor to "God Only Knows."

With lots of Purdue grads in the crowd, the fight song had to be played and everyone danced the night away.

Beth & Nic are always laughing and smiling at one another. Every time we met in my office, they were cracking each other up.

When the music to "Let's Go (The Colts Theme)" dropped, they surprised everyone with their Colts jerseys 'n' shades.

All their bridesmaids, groomsmen, ushers and family have one thing in common - they LOVE Beth and Nic.

You could hear it in their laughter and see it in their smiles all night long.

Beth & Nic's first dance to "Just You & Me" by Chicago.

Then, in a night FULL of highlights...

with their surprise choreographed Father & Daughter dance!

Bloomington, Indiana is a magical place. Lori and Brian met there while in college and returned to get married.

Their celebration continued at the Indiana Memorial Union in the heart of the I.U. campus.

Cocktail hour was in the Solarium, where guests enjoyed refreshments and the decor, accented with photos of Lori & Brian and their travels.

Their reception was in the beautifully decorated Alumni Hall. 240 guests found their seats just before Lori, Brian and their wedding party danced in to Usher and Timbaland.

Brian took the mic to welcome and thank everyone. He finished by asking Lori to dance (yes, everyone went "aaawwww" LOL). Their first dance song was "When You Got A Good Thing" by Lady Antebellum.

After dinner, Lori's father, maid of honor Ashely and Brian's twin brother gave toasts that were touching and hilarious at the same time.

Then the party shifted to high gear with a packed dance floor until the very end (when the After Party continued on Kirkwood!).

Disclaimer - my wife and I met in Bloomington as well, so we love returning to I.U. and B'town. It's a special place in the world.

- Christy's Maid of Honor wrote that and it describes them perfectly.

I've included so many photos of their first dance, because the sequence shows how much fun they had together!

(btw - it was choreographed to "Can't Help Falling In Love" by UB40)

Christy & Dave's ceremony and reception were all about love, family and friends.

The wedding party 'Busted a Move' and made a tunnel during introductions, Dave's groomsmen knelt and snapped, we danced a Greek 'Sirtaki" circle and 'Jump(ed) Around' too.

What a blast!

Yes, I had to invent a new word to describe Megan & Julian's wedding reception at Union Station's Grand Hall.

Guests were treated to passed appetizers in the bar. They gasped when curtains pulled back to reveal the dinner decor.

Honored. Nick and many of his guests have served or are serving in the armed forces. When I am privileged to perform for those who have served our country, I feel nervous excitement but mostly a feeling of honor.

Karen & Nick gave all of their guests an evening of family, friendship and FUN! Their introductions gently "roasted" their wedding party, Nick used his knife ("now THAT's a knife!") to pop the champagne...

and their special dances were accompanied by onscreen lyrics so their hearing-impaired guests were included in the moment.

Katie & Nick's wedding was truly a CELEBRATION! You could feel the energy buzzing in the room as the guests arrived. Everyone was ready to have a good time.

They were greeted with totally unique touches Katie & Nick had planned to get all of their guests involved. Since they love to travel, their reception was built around that theme. Vintage suitcases, maps and postcards were displayed all around. Each dinner table was named for a city Nick & Katie had been to.

Katie & Craig's guests gasped (try to say that 3 times fast LOL) when Union Station's Grand Hall was opened for dinner.

The color scheme, linens and decorations were nice...

...but nothing compared to how beautiful Katie was in her wedding dress.

Their wedding party (8 on each side, 3 ushers and the flower girl!), friends and family had a blast. First with cocktail hour, then their pick of delicious food stations, champagne, wedding cake and dancing all night long.

A highlight was when Craig pulled out the Purdue U. flag for a photo and fight song sing-a-long! Many familiar faces in the crowd, including Carla & Adam (married last June) and their family.

263 guests, fantastic toasts, a surprise first song by Dan's brother and a packed dance floor.

When I met Andrea & Nick's family and friends at their rehearsal, I knew we were in for a FUN night!

Andrea & Nick's first dance to "18th Floor Balcony" by Blue October.

Their wedding party were a blast to be around.

Their ceremony and reception were full of personal touches and showed their style. During Andrea & Nick's Unity Candle, Jarrod Pennycuff, one of their groomsmen, played and sang a song he wrote. Andrea & Nick cut their cake to "Big & Chunky" from the movie Madagascar and their first dance was "18th Floor Balcony" by Blue October. From Griffith to Green Bay, guests toasted Christina & Andrew's marriage with an incredible celebration at the Omni Severin Indianapolis.

Their friends and family gathered for cocktail hour and you could already feel the energy in the room, see their smiles and hear the laughter.

After their Grand Entrance to "Just the Way You Are" by Bruno Mars, Christina's father welcomed everyone and Andy's dad offered a blessing.

During dinner, the 2 Best Men cracked everyone up with their toasts and Christina's sister shook off her nervousness and spoke right from her heart. I truly enjoyed getting to know their families - what warm, wonderful people!

Everyone gathered in the Severin Ballroom to watch Christina & Andy's first dance to "You Are the Best Thing" by Ray LaMontagne.

Highlights continued as Christina danced with her Dad and Andy took the floor with his Mom.

From there, BAM! - the dance floor took off. Andy's parents cut a rug to "In the Mood" and everyone packed the floor to "Dynamite" by Taio Cruz" (I put my hands up in the air sometimes...).

"Chasing Perfection" - That's a quote from the toast Matt's brother gave. To me, that captured Amy & Matt's day. It WAS perfect. From the weather to the decor to their spectacular first dance - Amy & Matt chased perfection and caught it.

Amy's father led off with happy tears in his welcome - his love for Amy is so obvious. During dinner, guests had fun with the chalkboards creating messages in Amy & Matthew's photo booth. Matron of Honor Kelly and Best Man Nick had the whole crowd cracking up with their toasts.

Then, Amy & Matt surprised everyone with their beautifully choreographed dance to Michael Buble's "You and I." Guests flooded the floor afterward for open dancing.

Like a human highlight film, Sarah & Chris' wedding day had so many amazing moments. Their wedding party busted moves during their grand entrance...

Sarah's Dad evoked tears and laughter with his welcome...

and Sarah & Chris looked at each other with such love in their eyes during their first dance to "Then" by Brad Paisley.

The evening only got better with touching toasts by Sarah's sister and Chris' brother. Then...SURPRISE! Sarah & her Dad's dance together went from serious to silly with their choreography to "You Should Be Dancin.' " Chris' Mom was touched by his tribute to her with "Wind Beneath My Wings" for their dance.

After that? There was no stopping this group!

All 200 guests stormed the dance floor and stayed there all night long. Sarah & Chris, their family and friends celebrated with such joy and happiness...

and sent the newlyweds off in style.

When a relationship begins with a round of putt-putt golf, you KNOW it's meant to be. Tina & Jason have so much fun together and they don't keep score. LOL

Their wedding reception at the Indiana Historical Society began with cocktails on the Canal in perfect weather.

Guests signed the framed photos of Tina & Jason and found their place cards propped in wine corks. Upstairs in Lilly Hall each table name was a different variety of wine.

After a sumptuous meal from Thomas Catering, guests were treated to both wedding cake AND desserts and Tina's favorite; rich, flavorful coffee!

Amber & Jared's wedding reception had STYLE. Panache. Joie de vivre.

Inspired by classic movies, authors, fashion and music from the 20's and 30's, Amber and Jared wove their theme through every detail.

"Telegrams" greeted guests and led them to their tables. Antiques and artifacts decorated the room. Classic movie scenes played continuously on the big screen.

"Read all about it!" Newsboys dressed in period costumes even passed out newspapers announcing Amber & Jared's union.

My favorite moments were watching the smiles on Amber & Jared's faces as the night unfolded perfectly.

Jordan & Kenny's love is POWERFUL. As her sister Sonnie said during her toast, they "glow" when they are together. Kenny's brother Kolton knew they were meant for each other when he heard Kenny say the "L" word out loud to Jordan. Pastor Tim (also Kenny & Kolton's h.s. wresting coach) added personal touches to their ceremony as well. With the help and support of so many people on their wedding day, there's no stopping this couple!

Their "diamond" decorations made the Indiana Roof Ballroom look stunning. Each couple danced their way into the room during the Grand Entrance of the Wedding Party. Then, after a signature "thunderstorm" the happy couple flew in with Kenny wearing a Superman cape!

The surprises kept coming as Jordan & Kenny caught the attention of all 325 guests with their beautifully choreographed First Dance to "Holding A Mystery" by Steven Curtis Chapman. Jordan tossed her bouquet from the balcony and Kenny tossed the garter...wrapped around a football with a $20 bill to convince the single guys to catch it! Then, a huge Purdue group photo and sing a long to the Boilers fight song.

The Big Finish featured "Wonderful Tonight" with audio clips of Jordan & Kenny's vows and then their guests made a tunnel for their grand exit. Congratulations!

The Indiana Roof Ballroom staff is amazing and it's always a pleasure partnering with them.

Rare to work with someone else as tall as I am, but Photographer Dave Mason fits the bill! LOL

Magical. That's the word Josh used to describe their wedding day afterward. And, he's absolutely right. He and Shana created a magical evening for their guests.

We began with their very personal wedding ceremony under the beautiful chuppah. Then cocktails and hors d'oeuvres followed by dinner in the incredible Indiana Roof Ballroom.

Shana & Josh's grand entrance was amazing as we "roasted" their wedding party, had a brief thundershower and then Shana & Josh made their triumphant appearance to a special mix of "Umbrella" and "Beautiful."

Hilarious and touching toasts followed, then a slide show of Shana & Josh growing up. A unique touch from Shana & her Mom; guests filled out Anniversary cards for Shana & Josh to open through the years - great idea!

After their first dance to "Lost" by Michael Buble, Shana & Josh surprised their Dad and Mom with prerecorded messages to them that played during the Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dances.

Open dancing featured the biggest, best Hora ever with Shana, Josh and their parents hoisted high in chairs. The dance floor stayed full all night until the finale - "Don't Stop Believin' " where everyone sang along at the top of their lungs!

From Indy to Nashville and all points in between, Katy & Adam's guests descended on Bloomington for the party of the year! Alumni Hall was dressed and ready for their 250 guests and 3-plus generations of family.

The wedding party set the stage with their amazing entrance to "OMG" with bridesmaids on shoulders and 'Katy's Crew' t-shirts.

Katy & Adam took the floor for their first dance to "You Are the Best Thing" followed by her Dad's heartfelt welcome speech and her Pappy's blessing before dinner (one day after his 91st birthday!).

In Memory of Kemp Harshman 1948-2010

"It is with great sadness that on behalf of the ADJA board of directors that we announce the passing of long time ADJA member & legal Advisor, Kemp Harshman." - ADJA Press Release

None of us will ever know just how many people Kemp Harshman helped. He was quiet and unassuming but also one of the most intelligent and thoughtful people I have ever met. A conversation with him revealed that he was much, much smarter than you but his kindness never made you feel ignorant by any means. Instead he was able to phrase things in such a way to make it easy to understand even complex topics. In other words, he could translate legalese for us humans.

Conversely, he was also tough and resolute when dealing with some extremely challenging situations on behalf of the ADJA. His involvement in the American Disc Jockey Association stretched from the earliest days through to the present day. Those who sought his counsel and advice (myself included) have stronger contracts to protect both our clients and ourselves and a better understanding of why we need those protections.

Kemp Harshman was the perfect dinner guest. Knowledgeable on a wide variety of subjects, sensitive enough to know when to stay quiet and when to interject and kind enough to know when it was time to say good night. We wish you peace, my friend - Jim Cerone

A fabulous evening for more than 200 Columbia Club V.I.P.'s. with amazing food from Chef Jack Ford and his staff. Then, the V.I.P's became the "stars" as Ballroom Dance Instructor Michael Fatyanov and his assistants taught basic foxtrot, swing and waltz steps.

There were many special moments, but none more awe-inspiring than when breast cancer survivors came out of the audience and took over the dance floor to "I Will Survive."

Such a pleasure getting to know Kay Anne, Bart and their families. Kay Anne was stunningly beautiful and Bart worked the room like a pro. They were fantastic hosts, making sure everyone was included, involved and having fun. Then, I got to hand off to family favorite, Rusty Bladen and his band. What an amazing night!

New Buble - Already?

Hot on the heels of his Crazy Love album (out October '09), Michael Buble just released another collection; an EP called Special Delivery.

With his "Haven't Met You Yet" from Crazy Love still riding high on the charts, this new EP is a collection of cast-offs - songs that didn't make the cut on other albums. A savvy piece of marketing, 'just in time for Valentine's Day.'

Special Delivery is solid. A stand-out track, perfect for romantic dinner music is "Dream a Little Dream of Me" (a close second to my other favorite version by Mama Cass). Some great standards he has missed thus far that debut here are "I'm Beginning to See the Light" and "Orange Colored Sky." Also included for the first time is a studio recording of "Mack the Knife" (previously only available from his live concert CD). If you're a huge fan, the only duplicate you might end up with is "These Foolish Things" which was released a few years ago only to Hallmark stores.

The Crazy Love album didn't impress me much, but Special Delivery...well, you can write the rest.

Okay, I'll admit it; I'm a chart geek. LOL

When I was on the radio at 99.5 WZPL and 97.1 WENS, I couldn't wait for Billboard magazine to be delivered each week so I could highlight the Top 40 chart. I also love the Year in Review issues of magazines like Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly.

I love to learn and I love people. That's why I enjoy being a member of ISES (International Special Event Society) so much. ISES members are committed to continuing education and I learn something new at every monthly meeting. I'm also very honored to be serving on the ISES Indiana Board of Directors.

Today was our joint meeting with the Indiana chapter of ABC (Association of Bridal Consultants) at the beautiful Eiteljorg Museum. Guest speaker Ali Phillips from Chicago told us about hot wedding trends and showed lots of amazing photos.

WOW! What an incredible night! Abbie & Chris, their families and friends could not wait to get on the dance floor and celebrate. Robyn, Sarah and the always top-notch staff at the Marriott North took wonderful care of all 261 guests. Darcie and Christina from Circle City Planners were excellent to work with and covered every detail with care and special attention.

These 2 beautiful people were so much fun to get to know (captured perfectly by my good friend Jennifer Driscoll, photographer extraordinaire).

I especially enjoyed hearing the toasts from their siblings and watching their first dance.

Look closely. Yes, that IS a groomsmen in mid-air during his amazing flip on the dance floor! The crowd showed their love for Abbie & Chris all night. In fact, no one wanted to leave!
